Explore the magic of Printmaking!

Relief printmaking is the oldest and one of the most accessible types of printmaking. It is a type of art that utilizes the ability to create multiple copies of a unique design. During this workshop participants will create their own prints as Ashley Gaboury leads them through the basic steps of carving, inking, and registering prints. They will learn take-home techniques for both relief printmaking and creating monotypes. Students are encouraged to bring 4”x 6” printed images or drawings they’d like to carve. We will be using Speedy-Carve blocks and water-based media. Most supplies included. Teens and adults welcome. Beginners welcome. 

We will take a short break for lunch.

Supplies needed:
• Printmaking paper pad (ask Swinton’s staff) 9”x 12”

• Palette paper pad

• Speedy Carve - 2 small blocks approx. 4"x 6" - Students can cut 1 larger block into approx. 4”x 6” blocks if needed.

Studio tools, sample papers, paints and additional supplies included.
