Step into the world of mixed media through collage, image transfer, and richly layered acrylic techniques that echo the depth and atmosphere of encaustic. Texture draws artists in yet knowing how to harness it can feel overwhelming. This workshop invites you to explore how acrylic mediums, gels, and pastes can transform a surface and open new creative possibilities. Guided by GOLDEN Artist Alumni Ashley Gaboury, you will learn how various products, tools, and approaches interact to build luminous layers and compelling surfaces. Through demonstration and hands-on exploration, you will have the opportunity to experiment, ask questions, and discover techniques you can carry into your own practice. Some supplies are included. Teens and adults are welcome, and no prior experience is needed. We will take a short break for lunch.

Canvases or Canvas boards – qty 3 – 8” x 8” or 8” x 10”
Palette paper pad – 9” x 12”
Paper Towel – Blue ones work best!
Palette Knife - Flat-angled palette and painting knife
HB pencil and eraser
Scissors
Paints, mediums, brushes and additional supplies included.
